Project realization:
In 1993 the Lieftinghsbroek forest has been selected as forest reservation of the extensive Dutch Forest Reserves Programme (DFRP). The DFRP is focused on monitoring and research of forest reservations. The first measurements of Lieftinghsbroek reservation were carried out in 1983, second followed in 1993. Both measurements were based on standard mapping instruments (tape, handheld compass etc.). The aim of the Dutch Forest Reserves Programme – Lieftinghsbroek Reserve survey in 2001 was to remeasure the reservation using advanced Field-Map mapping technology and to demonstrate applicability of this technology for the Dutch Forest Reserves Programme.
